Abstract

Media komunikasi visual sangat beragam jenis dan bentuknya,  salah satu media komunikasi visual yang mampu mengjangkau semua kalangan dan generasi adalah komik. Selain dipandang sebagai suatu bentuk media komunikasi visual, komik juga dapat dilihat sebagai sebuah produk seni serta artefak budaya popular.  Komik sebagai bentuk media komunikasi visual yang unik, dapat menjadi media yang secara leluasa dapat mengusung berbagai topik dan gagasan. Penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian diskriptif kualtitatif dalam tulisan ini. Metode yang digunakan yaitu studi pustaka (library research). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pembacaan kritis dan menganalisis berbagai pustaka yang relevan. Isi pembahasan  tulisan ini terdiri dari mode kerja komik sebagai media komunikasi visual  yang membahas bagaimana komik bekerja sebagai media komonikasi visual dan  sejarah perkembangan komik. Sajian  dari tulisan ini diaharapkan dapat menjadi  topik kajian dan menambah kasanah wawasan  serta pengetahuan secara lebih luas  tentang komik sebagai sebuah media komunikasi visual.
